ODE to SIBLINGS

3 Blessed be God,

even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

the Father of mercies,

and the God of all comfort;

4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation,

that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble,

by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

5 For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us,

so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.

It's been five years today.

The day my baby sister's breath went back to GOD.

7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was:

and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

As happens every year since, SPIRIT wakes me up at the hour she passed on.

And, as always, I light a scented candle, in commemoration of my beloved sister.

I don't know how you commemorate your loved ones, but my ways are simple.

Just simple, everyday stuff.

And waiting for the Rapture.

16 For the Lord himself

shall descend from heaven

with a shout,

with the voice of the archangel,

and with the trump of God:

and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

17 Then we which are alive and remain

shall be caught up together with them

in the clouds,

to meet the Lord in the air:

and so shall we ever be

with the Lord.

When you love someone, your world truly gets shattered when that person passes on.

As if to press the pain further, another family member passes on in 2025.

We would all wish we'd be together always.

But it is not so.

Our lives are in GOD's Hand alone.

We believers have to carry the cross given.

How are we to survive the pain, grief, and loss?

The first verse the HOLY SPIRIT gave, to comfort me, was this:

4 Blessed are they that mourn:

for they shall be comforted.

Then, my other sister, gives me another comforting verse:

8 We are confident, I say,

and willing rather

to be absent from the body,

and to be present with the Lord.

Believers look to the promise of the Resurrection:

26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me

shall never die.

Believest thou this?

And I look forward to this day:

4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes;

and there shall be no more death,

neither sorrow,

nor crying,

neither shall there be any more pain:

for the former things are passed away.

5 And he that sat upon the throne said,

Behold, I make all things new.

And he said unto me, Write:

for these words are true and faithful.

Life on earth is temporary.

Believers are citizens of heaven.

That is where we truly belong.

We look forward to the day we will be with CHRIST.

And worship GOD alone, and have no more sin, death, and suffering, as we do, and have, on earth.

And peace shall perpetually reign.

In JESUS' Name.

Amen.
